Hip Hip Hooray! It's a Stamp Night! :)

Here's the third card from last weekend's card class.  Again, I found inspiration on Pinterest, but switched up the stamps to use this super cute Hip Hip Hooray Stamp.  It's from The Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit, which I'll post about tomorrow.  I LOVE IT!  Anyway, back to the card...

The one thing that really draws me to this card is the dotted background.  To achieve this, you stamp the circle multiple times to get the lighter shaded circles.  This is called "stamping off" and you can use it in a lot of ways  Think a bicycle stamped a few times...looks like it is moving!

This circle stamp is actually the "garbage" from the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set.  It's the circle from the inside of one of the stamps.  So it's not actually a "stamp" but instead a scrap.  Save those valuable pieces if you think you can create something with it!

Also, I used the background stamps from the February Paper Pumpkin Kit to create the stars.  I stamped the background circles and punched out the stars.   There were a lot of ways to use our stamps in multiple ways on this card, which was the "lesson."

I used the same layout, colors and technique that Cindy Schuster used on her card, but chose a few different elements.  I chose to use a Basic Gray card base and mount the Smoky Slate on top, instead of use the Smoky Slate as the base.

I love these colors together, and am sad to see Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, and Midnight Muse go as of June 1.  Those 3, along with Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green will be retiring as they are the 2012-2014 In Colors.  But with retirement, comes new colors!  I'm anxiously awaiting the new colors that will be announced in their place.  With that being said, these sell out fast, once they are officially announced, so if you love these colors, order your ink pad refills, ink pads, paper, and embellishments now!  If you need a refresher on the colors, here they are.  Primrose Petals is sorta hiding :(

And finally!  I'm going to start having crafting evenings/afternoons.  Starting tonight and tomorrow!  Here's how it will work:
You come to my house to create projects you are working on.  You can use all my stamps, ink & tools and pay a fee of $5.  (this helps cover the cost of replenishing ink pads, replacing crunched embossing folders, etc...)  The idea is that we will get together to make all different projects, and share good company.  I am only allowed to sell adhesives and kits in a cash and carry manner.  I will have card kits on hand from time to time, and if you know something you'd like, let me know and I can prepare it for you ahead of time.  And I ALWAYS have extra adhesives!

Thoughts?  Sound like fun!?  I think so!!!
